(botany) An organism that is not an animal, especially an organism capable of photosynthesis. Typically a small or herbaceous organism of this kind, rather than a tree.
(dated) A substitute for ivory, etc., made by treating woody fibre with sulphuric acid, mixing with various ingredients, and pressing into any required form.
(biology) The abnormal development of green pigmentation in plants that are not normally green, like flowers and shoots. It may indicate phytoplasma infection.
(archaic, medicine) A condition characterized by the occurrence on the skin of small yellow pustules.
